2014 Coombe Farm Cabernet Merlot

2014 was a warm dry vintage allowing both these late ripening varieties to reach their full potential.

The wine has great depth of colour, enduring dark berry, chocolate and casis flavours with fine acid and ripe tannins. Coombe Farm’s Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are planted in one of the coolest parts of the vineyard. Low-lying and with a slightly SW aspect, the site encourages the maintenance of fresh acidity and bright flavours – ideal in the warmest years.

Each variety was harvested and fermented separately, then aged in oak barriques for twelve months before the ideal final blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and merlot was determined prior to bottling.
